Appliance Removal & Disposal in Maryland, DC & Virginia

Fridges, washers, dryers, ovens and AC units removed and disposed of legally — including refrigerant recovery.

Appliances are the single biggest reason a municipal bulk pickup gets refused. Anything containing refrigerant — fridges, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers — is legally required to have that refrigerant recovered by a certified process before disposal, so kerbside programmes will not touch them. We handle that end of it properly and take the metal for recycling.

Appliance Removal in practice

Garage packed floor to ceiling with furniture, boxes and a mattress before a Rich Brothers garage cleanout
A full garage before we started — no item limit, no kerbside dragging
Living room mid estate cleanout with clothing, bags and boxes sorted across a sofa and floor
Sorting a family home — keepsakes set aside, never binned

How it works

  1. Tell us the appliance and the floor

Basement water heaters and upstairs washers need different kit.

  2. We disconnect where safe

We can uncouple a standard washer or dryer. Hard-plumbed or gas appliances need a licensed trade first, and we will tell you straight.

  3. Out without damage

Appliance dollies and floor protection as standard.

  4. Recycled properly

Refrigerant recovered where required, metal recycled rather than landfilled.

How we quote it

We quote appliance removal on volume — the share of the truck your load fills — rather than by the hour, so a fast crew never costs you more than a slow one. Send a photo or let us walk the job, and you get a firm figure before anything is lifted. It does not change once you have agreed it.

Quotes are free and carry no obligation. Adding items to an existing booking always works out better value than booking them as separate trips. Ask for a free quote →

Appliance Removal — common questions

Why will the county not take my fridge?

Refrigerators, freezers and AC units contain refrigerant that must be recovered by a certified process before the unit can be scrapped. Kerbside bulk programmes are not set up for that, so they exclude them.

Can you disconnect the appliance?

We can disconnect a standard plug-in washer or dryer. Anything hard-plumbed, hard-wired or on a gas line needs a licensed plumber or electrician first — for your safety and ours.

Do you recycle appliances?

Yes. Appliances are mostly steel, and we take them to a metal recycler rather than to landfill.

How much does appliance removal cost?

Ask us for a free quote — it takes a minute. Cost depends on the unit, the floor it is on and whether refrigerant recovery is needed. Several appliances on one trip always costs less per item than separate visits.
